Easter Bunnies

Some could accuse my parents of letting the Easter Bunny fantasy carry on for a little too long…Some could. Those people are called spoilsports. Our family ranges from 28-19 and every Easter we get a visit from the bunny with personalized candy (I'm a gummy lover) and a little present or two. Now we have all heard or read the story The Polar Express, you hear the bell, you still believe……..Have you ever heard of The Easter Meow? Great tradition.

Each Easter we know the Bunny has dropped off his presents when we hear one of our cats meow continuously at the window. You may be thinking "That's just a coincidence." or "Cats don't like windows." or even "Why do you own a cat?" If you ask the last one, you deserve to spend the rest of your life on a deserted island with snakes. So back to our family tradition. Once we hear the cat(s) meow, we all run like the wind downstairs to see what he has left! This year….oh man. this year.

This year I was extra quick, quicker than normal, and CAUGHT HIM.
Those are two of the cutest faces in the South!!

I just couldn't believe my luck.

LOL, JK. This is our cat Buster whom y'all have met in earlier posts. He was most happy to be included in the Easter post. My sis took about 40 other photos where he was just hamming it upppppp. He loves the spotlight.
haha! Blooper!! and you thought rolls were just for the dinner table!

One of my best memories of Buster happened on Easter. We came back from out of town, and he had accidentally been left outside all weekend (obvi I was not in charge of him then).  Well, he came to greet us on Sunday. Easter Sunday. Easter Sunday. with a present. He had brought a baby bunny to show us. As you can see from the photos, you think his girth would inhibit any sort of catching animals, but I prefer to think Buster lures them in with some good stories and then pounces. He's friendly and cunning.

Anyway, we chased Buster around the yard trying to get this poor baby bunny, and he finally dropped it. The thing was LONG gone, but we were convinced if it rested in a box (with the top on) all night, in our house it would be fine. He/She wasn't and we buried it the next day. Poor Buster, we not only left him outside for a weekend, we took away his weekend snack.

Here's Grits on his first Easter with the family. He is ,interestingly enough, the only animal we have that got an Easter present. My sister's present this year was wrapped with a ribbon and he loves ribbons! He tolerated the bunny ears better than Buster and ran off with them.

Grits and his momma

Well Readers, I hope y'all had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed this post. You've also met my sister and me!
